POLICE URGE VIGILANCE IN WAKE OF DISAPPEARANCES
MAYBROOK-- As the town of Maybrook continues to grapple with the mysterious disappearances of seventeen children from their homes, police urge residents to take additional safety measures to protect their families and property.
In recent days, Maybrook Police have received an increased number of reports of suspicious activity, including strangers loitering in parking lots and nearby woods and an increase in break-ins and vandalism. There have also been reports of a man running through town with a tar-like substance on his face. His last known whereabouts was a local gas station, where an altercation is known to have taken place between two customers.
A spokesman for the police department cautions there’s no reason to believe this uptick in unusual activity is related to the disappearances, but reiterates that any strange occurrences should be immediately reported to the Maybrook Police Department.
Some local residents worry such measures are not enough. When reached for comment, Miss Gandy, a teacher at Maybrook School central to the investigation noted, “there is something very, very wrong going on here.”
